Indulging oneself doesn't just stop at your beauty regiment. It includes what you add into that tummy too. Sometimes you just have to splurge on it, and enjoy your meal.

I'm a huge foodie, and love to try local places around Huntington Beach whenever I can. There are so many hidden gems around Orange County, and I can't wait to share them with you.

Here's my first one:

My Local Review of Bluegold Huntington Beach

On a beautiful, sunny day, my husband and I decided to dine at Bluegold, a modern eatery inside the popular Pacific City.

ABOUT

Chef Tin Vuong and partner Jed Sanford of Blackhouse Hospitality opened Bluegold based on a farm-to-table concept. Cuisine would be sourced from the land and sea, offering diners fresh ingredients underneath the California sky. And with a warm ocean breeze to top it off.

AMBIANCE

The airy restaurant offers floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the calming Pacific Ocean. It's refined look - sleek tables, exposed kitchen, and beige chairs - adds to the ambiance of modern American cuisine.

You can enjoy views of the ocean inside or take in the salty air from the outdoor patio. There is so much natural light inside that we opted to enjoy a table by the stunning view. It's a treat day for myself after all!

EXPERIENCE

First, we started with the drinks menu (like all Californians). With a glass of tantalizing red wine, we sipped slowly and took in the panoramic views of the ocean.

After quite some debate over the menu, we agreed to stick to items from the raw bar. We're huge fans of anything from the sea. While many stay clear of it, we dove right in, throwing caution to the wind.

We ended up ordering the osetra caviar. It arrived in a bucket of ice, adorned with purple and pink flowers. The presentation was delightful as it came with a full spread of crackers, lemon, chives, and creme - all your traditional accompaniments.

After taking my first bite...

All I have to say was that the founders were true to their vision - the caviar was divine and fresh. It exploded playfully on our tongues, unleashing a delightful flavor bite after bite.

From the unique ocean view to the tasty fare, we can't wait to go back and try more on the menu. And I urge you to give it a whirl too. And then come back and tell me how it went. You don't have to be a foodie to enjoy good food, you just have to enjoy it.
